This privacy policy sets out how Freemasonry Cares uses and protects information that you may provide when making an enquiry to the website, e-mail or freephone.

Freemasonry Cares is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website or making an enquiry via e-mail or to the freephone, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy.

This policy is effective from 24 May 2011.

1. What information we collect from you

We may collect the following information:

  • name
  • contact information, including your e-mail address and telephone number
  • details of your enquiry
  • other information relevant to our user surveys

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • to understand the nature of your enquiry
  • to assess whether we are able to assist with your enquiry
  • to forward your enquiry to the appropriate party
  • to process your enquiry

There are two types of cookies on this website:

  • Google Analytics tracking cookies used to gather anonymous, aggregate information about traffic to our site
  • Session cookies used to remember visitor state whilst they are using the site

Freemasonry Cares does not use third-party retargeting cookies that are used for advertising.

4. Third party processors

It may be necessary for Freemasonry Cares to transfer your information within the four central Masonic Charities in order to assist with your enquiry. It may also be necessary to forward your information to administrative parties at the appropriate Province in order to assist with your enquiry however this will only be done with your prior consent.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect from you.

6. Controlling your personal information

We will not sell, distribute or release your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. If you would like a copy of the personal information you have provided to us please write to Freemasonry Cares, 60 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5AZ.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or e-mail us at help@freemasonrycares.org as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

7. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our website, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Any changes to our privacy policy in the future will be posted to the website.
